Frequently asked questions
What does a percentile mean?
How many children of the same age are below. P50 is the middle, P3 and P97 are the edges. A child on P3 is healthy as long as it stays there. The curve matters, not the number.
When is a baby ready for solids?
When it can sit with support, holds its head, shows interest in food and has lost the tongue-thrust reflex. Usually between the fifth and seventh month, not by the calendar.
How long is the postpartum period?
About eight weeks. The body heals, the bleeding fades, the hormones settle. Accepting help in this time is not weakness, it is the plan.
